The Pepper Festival takes the music line up very seriously. We feel that the artists and bands we choose make up the soundtrack for the day while festival goers check out our amazing vendors, hot sauces and incredible food offerings. That’s why we have chosen – very carefully – the acts listed below. Funk, rock, r&b, country and more, the music at The Pepper Festival will be upbeat, fun and you’ll have to work very hard not to dance throughout the Gold Country Fairgrounds. We can’t wait!

Burnin’ Vernon and Bad Influence is a Robert Cray tribute band who also plays Funk, Rock, R&B…and they ROCK. Their rhythm section is super tight as is their backup vocals and Vernon’s voice and guitar talents really send them to another level. You’ll be on your feet for their show.

The inspiration for Loose Engines are the Honky Tonks, BBQ’s and backyard parties that band founder/leader Grub Mitchell experienced growing up playing in his father’s country band in the 1970s on the Austin, TX music scene.
Loose Engines plays a mix of original music, classic country, blues, Tex-Mex along with other types of music that make people get up and dance.

Robby James & The Streets of Bakersfield is a band that is keeping alive the traditional country sound that originated out of Bakersfield, CA.
You’ll hear songs from classic country artists like Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Joe Maphis and Carl Perkins as well as some newer artists.
Robby James & The SOBs are based in Bakersfield, CA (der) and Grass Valley, CA.
What started as a tribute concert celebrating the life of Tom Petty after his sudden passing in October of 2017 turned into a band that has been performing ever since to great reviews.
They do Petty’s music justice with all the passion of true fans. It’s the perfect music to play at the festival.
They will have special guest Michael Ward (School of Fish, Wall Flowers, John Hiatt, Ben Harper, Gogol Bordello) on lead guitar.
